The Four Freedoms

The Four Freedoms

Model of a monument, which is part of the Peace Memorial in Madison, Florida.
(Also known as the Colin P. Kelley Memorial. Kelley was the first hero who fell in the Second World War.)
This sculpture was inspired by an idea of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, which he had expressed to Thomas Watson (IBM). It represents allegorically the four freedoms, which were the most important ones for Roosevelt: »Freedom from Want, Freedom of Religion, Freedom from Fear and Freedom of Speech«.
