This painting with its four separate images across the top appears to reveal the red-orange male and green-blue female spectral colours surroinding the ends of a bar magnet. These colours surround all polarized opposites. The upper paintings reveal the male pole on the left of the pairs and the female on the right. The lower pair reveals the spectral fields of these paired bars as if the upper pairs were both rotated 90 degrees horizontally to a close-up side view. In the upper pairs, the poles are seen in end view and separated.
